CREATE THE CHANGE YOU WANT IN YOUR LIFE
Helping to cope with Depression
We all experience depressed or low mood at times – life is not always happy; we suffer loss, disappointment and at times experience failure. Consequently, a range of negative feelings arise in us which are quite normal and natural.
However, at times we may be overwhelmed with the pain of these feelings, particularly when we have a number of difficult events happen at the same time, or in quick succession. We may then withdraw from the people around us, to protect our vulnerable feelings.
You may consider seeking treatment if you find that you’ve stopped doing the things you love or just don’t have the capacity to enjoy life as you once did. Do you spend a lot of time reflecting on your situation and what caused it without finding the understanding you’re looking for, or a way to pick up and move forward again? If you find yourself sleeping a lot, or perhaps drinking too much to try to avoid the painful feelings, it may be time to speak with someone who can help. Depression is a condition that can gradually develop, so often we don’t notice it happening as one’s attention is focused on feelings of pain.
My therapeutic approach is empathic for you and your suffering; it provides a safe place for you to discover and understand the factors that are keeping you stuck in depression; where you learn effective strategies to facilitate your recovery. In a step by step process the therapy sessions support you to work towards achieving your goals and re-engage with your life experiencing positive feelings again.
